A proof is a specimen striking of coinage for
presentation, souvenir, exhibition or numismatic purposes. The term refers
to the method of manufacture and not the condition of the coin. They are
struck several times to give the mirror finish on the surfaces and the cameo
appearance on the devices. The State Quarter Proof coins are struck only at
the San Francisco mint.
This set has the coins in two separate plastic holders. One holder contains
the 5 state quarters and the other contains a proof coin for each
denomination. The Sacagawea "Golden Dollar", Kennedy Half, Roosevelt Dime,
Jefferson Nickel and Lincoln Cent are a part of this 10 coin proof set.
We will be offering each set for sale as they become available.
