Check for wear in the hair above the eye and ear, edges of cotton leaves, and the high upper fold of the cap. Also look at the cheek for luster and wear.
Notice the hairlines are well defined and show no wear. The folds in the cap are well defined and the cheek shows no wear but does have some minor nicks.
Morgan Reverse Uncirculated
The obverse focuses on the eagle's breast, tops of legs and the talons.
The feathers show all the detail on the breast and tops of the legs. The talons are well defined and show no wear. There is no wear on the leaves of the wreath.
Morgan Obverse Very Fine
This coin shows noticable wear on the high points of the hair from the forehead to the ear. Some strands are visible in the hair above the ear but most of the detail is gone. You can also see wear on the folds of the cap and the cotton leaves.
It is not noticable from the scan but the coin has a flat appearance.
Morgan Reverse Very Fine
Wear shows on the tips of the eagle's wings and only a few feathers are visible on the breast and head. Also note the wear on the eagles legs and talons. Wear also shows on the leaves of the wreath.
